Wabi is a company that specializes in ethical, natural coffee based exfoliants. the company is cruelty-free and based out of London, England. The body scrubs are handcrafted using Acabica beans which is supposed to give it an “intoxicating” scent. The word Wabi, according to the website, is “a quality of austere and serene beauty expressing a mood of spiritual solitude recognised in Zen Buddhist philosophy.”
They have two “flavors” available, Mocha Peppermint and Sweet Orange Coffee Body Scrubs. This review will be on the Mocha Peppermint Scrub.
It contains: Coffee Coffea Arabica (Coffee), Sucrose, Olea Europaea (Olive) Oil, Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Meal, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Glycerin, Theobroma Cacao (Cacao) Seed Butter, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil.
The packaging is minimalistic and easy on the eyes. I really like the aesthetic they create with the packing.
*It also shipped from England to the United States with no issues.
It says to apply the product wet, I tried once dry and once wet and honestly liked dry better. I let it sit for a couple for minutes, per the website, to let the oils soak into my skin both times. It was easier to wash off when I applied it to myself while dry, and I feel like my skin was softer after. I wouldn’t recommend using this more than once or twice a week because it is an exfoliant and we don’t want to over do it.
TWO THUMBS WAY UP!
I would recommend this to all of you. I wouldn’t use it on your face, it seems to be a bit harsh- but for a body exfoliant, this guy is perfect.
Let’s talk about the smell…. HOLY COW! I have never smelt anything like this in my life. My two friends were at my place when I opened the package and we couldn’t believe how wonderfully potent it was! It is the perfect Monday morning pick me up!
My skin felt so soft after just one use, after two I couldn’t believe how silky smooth I was! I may be a Wabi coffee scrub addict.
