Since moving into my studio apartment in March, I’ve been struggling to organize everything in a way that will keep me sane. The way I like it just so happens to be the only way I’m able to keep anything clean… everything must have a place. If there is any question as to where this “place” is, it will sit on the floor, counter top or chair until it has a true home. For this reason I made it my goal for the week to organize my accessories in an effort to begin to get this place squeaky clean. Being that living in a small space doesn’t offer a ton of room for storage, anything that houses my jewelry and other accessories needs to be multifunctional and not take up a ton of space in my living/bedroom.

I’m linking what pertains to organizing your small living space. If you have any questions about any decor items or accessories, comment below and I’ll answer them as best I can! Most of my decor was bought at Ross or Marshall’s so the chances of it still being around aren’t great, unfortunately. Let’s get back to business at the hand…

Here’s what I did!

DIY Jewelry Hangers

Self adhesive, no nails or screws. These took about ten seconds to put up and they made such a difference. The jewelry you see hanging here was formerly thrown all over the breakfast bar and TV console. Happy that these babies finally have a home.

DIY Wall Art

  • Board- $12.99 at Ross

This board provides the perfect home for a couple of pairs of sunnies, as well as a stylish belt! Living in a studio apartment has made functional decor my favorite and this piece is definitely top 3 for me.

Hats on the Wall

  • You just need nails and a hammer

The simplest way to use accessories decor is to make your hats pieces of wall art. I’ve done this twice; once in my entry way and once on my big gallery wall in the main room. I’m literally obsessed with how my hats look on my walls, it’s trendy and functional.

Shelving Unit for Storage & Decoration

Again this guy is “no tools needed” all the “legs” screw into each over and it’s actually very sturdy. I’ve packed this thing full of little trinkets, cleaning items and accessories. My airbrush makeup kit is hidden on it and my cleaning supplies and some of my hats are in the storage cubes! Saving space and keeping with the aesthetic. That’s what I’m here for.

I hope you enjoyed my tips for making accessories part of your decor. Living in a studio apartment is definitely new to me. However, as I put everything in its place, I see that it’s not as small of a space as I had previously thought. If you want to know where anything that I did not mention or link is from, leave me a comment and I’ll try to point you in the right direction.
