Today it’s back to my skincare roots, thanks to Clarisonic for providing me with a free Mia 1 for my review! The Clarisonic Mia 1 face brush is known to be the best introduction to the sonic cleansing system. It is also said to leave skin clear, glowing and as soft as a baby’s bottom. I’m going to have to agree with all of the above… With that being said, this will be an honest review, I would never do my followers wrong like that. You guys know me! Here’s why I love The Clarisonic Mia 1 Face Brush.
Background:
My skin type is normal, with hormonal breakouts right around that time of the month. I used to suffer from mild acne during my teenage years and early twenties, so I am all about preventing that from coming back.
I’ve been using my Clarisonic Mia 1 for almost a full 12 days now, twice a day (most days). I have also been using their Pore & Blemish Gel Cleanser, which I have been very, very happy with.
First Impressions
How do I charge it?
Being that you’re supposed to charge your Clarisonic Mia 1 for a full 24 hours before its first use, I ran into a road block right away. *Pro-tip: It’s magnetic. Lucky for me, my Mom has been a Clarisonic user for about two years, she told me how to charge it.
Why doesn’t it spin?
I honestly thought this brush would spin, but instead it vibrates super fast.
How is my face so soft?
Because it’s removing all of your dead skin… duh.
Results
My skin is so clear! Be warned… For the first three or so days, I did notice my face breaking out a bit more than usual. This is because of the “purge” that’s brought on by bringing all of the grossness in your pores to the surface. I just grabbed my extractor and went to work. All seemed to go away very quickly. It’s back to being predominantly blemish free and my pores are looking smaller and less noticeable. Win, win situation here.
I’m also very glowy. My skin looks dewy without any additional products. It’s phenomenal.
The texture of my skin has never been better. It’s soft and even the elasticity seems to have improved. The reason for this is that the vibrations also increase blood flow and stimulate collagen production. Perfect for us twenty-somethings who aren’t ready for filler just yet!

The Clarisonic Mia 1 is the perfect introduction into the sonic cleansing methods. The brush comes with one attachment to begin, you’ll need to change it every 3-4 months.
The brush itself has a self timer to let you know when you’re done cleansing. I tend to use it for a little longer, but it is a cool feature.
It’s an investment, but it’s well worth it.
