Welcome to PART TWO! This post is pretty basic but some may need to know some tips and tricks so let’s jump right into how to keep your face on when it’s hot out…

1. Use Oil-free products

This one speaks for itself, but it’s so so important. Oil will clog your pores and cause massive breakouts for later that day or later that week. Also, when you start to sweat your makeup will separate from your skin and you’ll literally start to M E L T. Save your oil for another day, chances are it was a pricey investment anyway.

2. Keep it Sheer & Matte

All makeup used should not only be oil-free but also lightweight and definitely matte. Too much sparkle and shine will make you look greasy, especially if you tend to sweat a lot. A little pop of highlighter on the cheek bones goes a long way in the sun, ya know?

BB Creams and tinted moisturizer with SPF should be your go to here. They’re not super heavy so you won’t be feeling like a *cake-face* but you’ll also have some coverage. Make sure you grab one with an SPF for added UV protection. My go-to tinted moisturizer is by The Balm Cosmetics, it’s called Balm Shelter and it’s SPF 18. As for the BB cream, I prefer Smashbox’s Camera Ready BB Cream which is SPF 35.

Using a waterproof eyeliner and mascara will prevent them from running with your sweat. Raccoon eyes and smudged wings are everyone’s worst nightmare.

3. Makeup Items Not to Forget

Powder- set your foundation, BB cream or tinted moisturizer with powder to both keep you matte and to make them stay longer.

Setting Spray- I recommend Urban Decay’s All Nighter Finishing Spray- this will realllyyyy keep your makeup from moving, it’s oil free and it also sets the other products you have applied.

Prime- The most missed step… On hot days it’s the most important. Pick your favorite oil-free primer and be sure to use it before applying your foundation, tinted moisturizer or BB cream. It gives the product something to hold onto and keeps it from wearing off throughout the day. My go-to is Nivea Men Sensitive Post Shave Balm… don’t knock it till ya try it.

It’s perfectly fine to go about doing your makeup the same way as you would any other day, these are just some tips to keep you looking flawless and intact ALL DAY LONG. If you missed PART ONE: Skincare 101, click here to check it out. Enjoy your holiday!
