Hello! I’m so excited for my first adoptable animal spotlight… as I said before, I’m going to try to post one or two of these a month. Animal adoption has always been something near and dear to my heart. Blayze, my cat, was kind of a rescue. He came from Craigslist, but I responded to the ad because it said he would be taken to a shelter by weeks end. I obviously could not let that happen. Blayze is what sparked my passion for adoption for many reasons. Adding this to my blog made sense, and I’m happy I’m able to use this platform to help animals find homes.
All animals are available for adoption at Animal Friends, which is located just outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Animal Friends is a non-kill shelter that houses a ton of animals. Being that Animal Friends is a nonprofit organization so all donations are appreciated!
Now let’s find some beauties their furever home…
1. Abby
Abby is an 11-year-old, female beagle who loves everyone. This pretty pup was brought to Animal Friends by her owner on March 15th of this year. Finding out Abby’s owners brought her back, probably because of her getting older, was like a stab in the heart. I cannot fathom giving up my baby under any circumstance. Abby is the sweetest girl and deserves a family who will love her for the rest of her life. Abby is very calm and doesn’t jump at all. She loves going on little walks and being shown love and affection. Since being brought in, Abby taken a liking to many of the workers at Animal Friends and is described as a “sweetheart”. I honestly couldn’t come up with a better way to describe Abby… she is such a sweetie.
2. Baby Doll
Baby Doll is a male (plot twist), Siamese mix. Although they are unsure of his age, but he is an adult. Baby Doll, I can’t with this name, was a stray cat. He was rescued, neutered and ear tipped by Animal Friends. This guy is FIV+ so he needs to go to a home with no other animals, or one that already has cats that are FIV+ due to his compromised immune system. Baby Doll, who responds to that name by the way, is super friendly and perfect for someone who wants company, but doesn’t want bothered. He came right up to me and sat next to me… but not too close, he didn’t expect to be pet, Baby Doll just wants to chill. His blue eyes made my heart skip a beat…. if I could have, I would have brought Baby Doll to live with me.
In the end, Cat lover or dog lover, it doesn’t matter. If you or anyone you know is in the market for a furbaby, please point them in the direction of Baby Doll and Abby. They or any of their other pals at Animal Friends deserve a loving home. Adopt Don’t Shop.
