Fashion is like karma; what goes around comes back around. Recently, 90’s fashion has been making a comeback into our closets. While some appear to just be fast fashion fads (I’m talking about you biker shorts and tiny sunglasses), I personally hope some of them are here to stay… forever. Which ones are those? You may ask. Let me tell you…
Scrunchies
Oh baby, baby… how was I supposed to know? …to never throw away my large dufflebag of scrunchies. Shout out to my mom for coming through in the clutch on that one.
Outfit: While you can’t get this exact “Baby One More Time” inspired scrunchy, I did find one on Etsy that seems close enough.
Combat Boots
I can wear my favorite style of shoes… All. Year. ‘Round. *cheers* I like to pair mine with anything and everything: skirts, shorts, dresses… you name it, I’ll put combat boots with it. Thank you 90’s grunge gang for this trend.

Tube Tops
While I was a bit too young to join in on this trend the first time around, I’m certainly here for it now! Express can take all my money with their basic tube tops. I’m hooked.
Outfit: This particular top comes in several patterns. I personally am trying to refrain from buying them all… Overalls linked below!
Bandanas
No longer just for cowboys and country concerts… because if that were the case I wouldn’t ever wear them. Hair accessories, necklaces, bracelets… I’ve seen bandanas do it all.
Outfit: 99% sure I got this bandana Walmart and cut it into two; very inexpensive. Very versatile. Shirt is from Forever21, Shorts are from Express.
Denim Skirts
Last time I wore one of these I paired it with two brightly colored Hollister polos with the collars popped. *cue Three6Mafia* You live and you learn, you guys. Less is always more. Which is why I now pair my denim skirts with a plain white tee.
Outfit: This distressed denim skirt is from Express. Tee from the Dollar Store, shoes are Tommy Hilfiger.
Overalls
What’s more 90’s fashion than overalls? Nothing.
I live in these things and haven’t found one top I don’t like them with. I’ve actually found myself having to refrain from wearing them out every single weekend. People are going to start to notice I live in these things.
Outfit: Shocking… these overalls are from Express! I’m wearing a size 0 and they still fit my super long torso. Dainty Necklace from Sabika.
Wife Leg Pants
I could die happy if I could wear these pants all day every day. Versatile and comfortable. Also… Do these vertical stripes make me legs look long af?! They’re supposed to! Wearing stripes that go up and down as opposed to across helps to elongate your body, making you appear both slimmer and taller. This is why short guys like pinstriped suits.

Round Shades
John Lennon lenses for life. I was so super skeptical about this trend at first but hopped on the second I put these babies on my face a little over a year ago. I’m so happy round sunnies weren’t “fast fashion”, I’m going to need them to stick around for a while.
Outfit: Round sunnies are currently everywhere. I got this specific pair a few years back at Marshall’s, but I have seen them more recently at Target!
